Relationships Between Characters

In the opening scene we want the friendship to seem very real towards the audience, so they believe that the pair has been friends for years. With the actors we are using they are already very good friends, so this will hopefully help in the friendship we are going to portray.

In the first minutes of our opening scene we want to portray the relationship of friendship as being very strong. In most Romantic Comedies there is commonly a girlfriend friendship, with the male character. The female main characters best friend is normally seen as the one she can always count on through the duration of her life’s problems, and in our film we wanted to represent this as well as it plays a very important part. As the two females Zoey and Donna are complete opposites, showing Zoey as being calm and collective, shy and a hopeless romantic, whereas Donna is shown to be the loud bubbly friend, mainly known as the party animal. Showing that not only do opposites attract in relationships but also in friendships. Having to characters being total opposites, makes their personalities stand out a lot more as they are shown to be “Chalk and Cheese.”
