Finished Opening Scene.

Here is the completed opening scene for our film 'Where's My Mr Right?' by Ellie Snowdon, Catherine Kirk and Sarah Hewitt.

Last Editing Lesson.

Today was our last lesson that we had to finish our editing of the opening scene. We looked at our opening scene once again just to check that everything we needed to do was up to a high standard and that everything was professional. We made sure that each credit, dialogue, shots and transitions were perfect to be handed in. We were very pleased with what we had created as a group. We spent most of our time however looking at the music, as in some areas the music was too quiet when it needed to be louder. So we had to increase the volume of the song once the dialogue had been spoken, we did this by using key frames on the audio effect on the programme to improve what we had to do. We corrected each part that we felt needed the volume of the music to be either higher or lower. Overall we did this successfully and our opening scene is completed and ready to be uploaded this evening.

7/03/12 Extra Editing.

On the 7th of March, we again had a free period, so again as a group we decided to join the Year Eleven GCSE class, and get in some final editing before the deadline. In this hour we decided to have a look through the opening scene and see if we needed to make any corrections. Once looking through the film a few times, we decided to correct titles and credits to make the flow of them all the same and the length of time they were on the screen the same too.  We zoomed in the Paramount logo, and our own logo so they both sat perfectly on the screen. We also changed the transitions used on the texts making them all the same which will make the opening seem more professional. This was all done to make sure that our opening scene looks professional and correct to our target audience.

Logo

When editing the logo into our opening scene, we found that our original logo was too small to fit in the screen on the movie maker programme that we used. So we tried to zoom in the image, which unfortunatly became very pixelated and unprofessional as it was very hard to make out the image that we had created. Due to this we had to redo the logo, and make it a lot bigger, so the image was clear and professional for our opening scene. We still kept the same idea for the logo design, but just changed the position of the writing and the size on Photoshop, creating an effective logo design for the production. We also added in some extra effects to the logo, to make it seem more authentic that a still image. This will all add to a more realistic opening scene, and crearte a better label for the production company.

Free Lesson

Yesterday we all had a few free lessons near the end of the school day, so as a group we decided to ask if we could join the Year 11 GCSE Media class to continue with the editing process. We managed to get a lot done in the lesson, and it was very constructive for us to be allowed to use the computers as our openign scene is now nearly complete.

Media Lesson

In our previous lesson we finally got our footage onto the computer from Saturday. As a group we looked through all of our shots, when we film each bot of footage a few times so when it comes to the editing process we have a back up if a shot doesnt exactly look right in the scene. So we had a look through all of the clips and deleted the ones that were not needed. Overall we are very happy with the new footage we have it looks a lot better and the continuity is on point. Also in this lesson we started to edit clips of one of our characters walking from the car into the house and also the speach with the two characters in our opening scene. However we did face a problem during this lesson in one of our clips we found a minoir continuity error and this was soon fixed, we used slide transitions to appear on the screen of the characters movements to the house so we could cut the clips shorter taking out the continuity error.
