Final Prisioner Clip!

When we shot the video we found using the camera was extremely easy, as we already had plenty of practice before we where given the time to shoot the video clips. Before we started to film we practiced many different camera movements and a variety of different camera angles, to find which ones would then be best to use in our video. For the video we used a melancholy garage and a back alley way, we decided that they would be the best locations as they fitted the atmosphere to the storyline that was going to be portrayed. For shooting the video, two of us filmed (Sarah and I) and two acted out the scenes (Catherine and Megan). Whilst filming we came across some difficulties, while we were filming in the back alley we had a lot of background noise such as cars and birds. They made that certain scene very unprofessional so we kept on re doing the clips again, however we actually couldn’t prevent some of the noises so in the video that can unfortunately be heard still. Another problem that kept on occurring was getting the actors in the correct places to film the clips, as when they moved the whole positioning of the camera had to then also be moved so we could get the full effect we wanted in the video. We dressed one of the actors up as a grungy man, he was all messy and un shaved to show the audience that he was not perfect, and not the ordinary man. The other character was just in a plain white shirt and dark sunglasses to fit in with the atmosphere we wanted to create. Which was sneaky, and up to no good! We wanted the audience to feel that something ,mysterious was going on so we though sunglasses would be best as no eye contact could be given from the female character.

Script-

This is the script we have to use, for our short film.

Extended Camera Shots! Ellie,Louise&Kelly

In this video, we has to shoot shot's that are more complicated than the ones in our first task. These shots consisted of Dolly Shot, Follow Shot, Hand Held, and different speeds of pans. This task was more challenging than the first one, as we had to be more consistent and careful with the positioning of the video camera. With some of the shots we experienced some difficulty, the camera was not as stable as it should have been as we did not have the high tech equipment that would have been used to make the shots extremley professional. We also had a problem with the video camera we used, as while we were in the middle of filming our shots the camera decided to switch off so we had to do some of our shots again. Overall I found the task, exciting to do but also challanging at certain times. We worked very well as a team, and everyone contributed evenly and had a fair share of using the equipment. I really enjoyed editing this video, as we all already had experience using the editing softwear we were able to use edits that were more complicated and to set ourselves a challange.

Ellie&Catherine-Camera Shots

In this video we had to film the basic camera shots we had been learning, around the school site. We filmed such camera shots as Close Up's, Two Shot's. I found this task very easy, even  though it was my first time using a video camera. However, we did face some problems such as the wind. We couldn't get the camera steady on certain shots, which made us have to do shots over again till they were correct, which limited our time even more. Both of us filmed and edited the shots equally, and worked very well as a team. We took both each others ideas on board and made very good progress in the understanding of the different types of camera shots. When editing the videos, Catherine did the text and I did the transitions. Again equally adding to the effects on the clips. I found the editing the best as showed the clips in a professional way, and brought all of our work together.
